Introducing....the Cookie Cone!

Apologies for the lack of blog posts, I’ve come to realise, blogging is not my strong point! However, I thought this exciting new product warranted it’s very own blog post.

I first came across a Cookie Cone on Prudent Baby – original blog post here. Thank you to Jacinda for kindly giving me permission to recreate this.

So here is my first attempt at a Cookie Cone... Not perfect but not too shabby for a first go I don’t think. I’ve got so many ideas for different designs; I can’t wait to try them! My next cookie cone is going to be wedding themed, keep an eye out for that :)

The Cookie Cones measure 16” high and are approx. 6” wide at the bottom. They hold up to 60 mini cookies. They are priced at £40. We will be adding smaller sizes soon.

We are now taking orders for the Cookie Cones and we are offering a 10% discount to the first 5 people that order.

Let me know what you think :)

#Twebrelief - Raising money for Comic Relief

What is #twebrelief I here you ask? It's the non-celeb version of twitrelief. Us, "normal" people are auctioning our skills, products, anything else we can think of, to raise money for Comic Relief.

One of the creators of #twebrelief is @dawniepants, a fellow Buffy fan, so we have much love and respect for this lovely lady.

I couldn't decide what to auction, so I settled on two cakes. One is my favourite cake of all time, a delicious, moist cherry cake. I've received so many great comments about this cake, so thought it'd be good to share the yumminess and raise money for charity at the same time. This can be posted anywhere in the UK. n.b. the image of the cake on this auction isn't what you'll receive, i've just added a selection of images for you to have a peek at :)

The other cake is a fully personalised celebration/wedding cake. I will make this 8" sponge cake any flavour and decorate it however you like. Due to these cakes being very delicate, it is for collection only from Ashton-Under-Lyne, OL7.

The auctions above end on Friday, so don't miss out.

You can find a full list of the items up for auction here

Please help us raise lots of money for Comic Relief, it's a great cause.

Upcoming Product Review

Happy Wedding Wednesday everybody!

I am really excited that we will soon be featuring a product review sponsored by the fabulous CSN Stores, they sell a huge range of products including Le Creuset cookware, one of my favourite brands. I'm so pleased they chose Rainbow Delicious to review one of their products and I can't wait to share the review with you all.

Our first wedding fayre!

Wow what a busy day (actually what a busy week!) We have just got home from our first wedding fayre at the Village Hotel in Ashton-Under-Lyne. We had a great time, got a couple of bookings and even more interest. Had a few email enquiries and i've only been home an hour or so!

This is the table set up, I have no idea why the banner is so far to the right! I am so anal about things like that so surprised I missed that, oh well!

I loved the look of the table, everything was co-ordinated and the table wasn’t overcrowded or too bare.
Here is the cake I made, I am so pleased with it, I just look at it and think wow, I made that!!

Obviously is you bought this cake, it wouldn’t have the little sign on top! That was to give people an idea of the cost.

Here is my vintage inspired cupcake tower, I bumped into the lovely Vintage Twee at the fayre and she kindly let me use some of her fab picks :)

I had three flavours – banana & chocolate chip with vanilla buttercream and chocolate chips, vanilla with fresh strawberry buttercream and last but definitely not least, chocolate with chocolate orange buttercream. The cupcakes went down a treat and I’m so glad people enjoyed them.

Here are my cookie and cake pop “bouquets” – I personally love these and they got a lot of complimentrom visitors today.

Prices for these start from £7.50.

So am I glad I attended the wedding fayre? You betcha! I can’t wait to do more, even though it was hard, hard work, it was so worth it.

Website Update

I’ve been working hard the last week or so optimising my website so that it’s a more enjoyable experience for my users.

All the product pages now have informative content, the main gallery is available to view my products and the individual galleries will be live shortly.

I’m constantly thinking of more features to have on the website, obviously the websites primary focus is my business and the products and services I offer but I also want it to have more features that will ensure customers return again and again.

I will be featuring a fantastic wedding supplier on my website each week, free of charge, all I ask is that you mention the feature on your Blog/Twitter/Facebook to get maximum coverage; I will of course do the same. I would also be grateful for a link on your website to mine.

The website received over 330 unique hits in its first month, which is amazing and I am overjoyed with this. I am constantly promoting the website, improving the content and attending local networking events so this can only improve.

If you would like to view the website, the address is www.rainbowdelicious.co.uk

Wedding Wedneday - The Venue Search Begins!

Yesterday I decided it was time to find a venue, I was getting quite stressed so called on my fab Twitter friends to help me and I was given some great suggestions.

I think we’ve decided to get married at a Registry Office and then go on to somewhere to have a sit down meal and then a reception. We looked at getting married at a venue but the costs are huge and we’ve only got a small budget.

At the moment our favourite venue is The Talking Point in Saddleworth, I love how it’s a Church but it’s not, I think churches are beautiful buildings but I’m not religious at all so with this I get the best of both worlds. I’m hoping it doesn’t work out too expensive because I’m really excited about this venue.

We did think about Dukes 92 in Manchester, it’s close to where we first lived together and we love that area but sadly I think it’s out of our price range.

So there you have it, I will keep you updated on my search and if anybody has any venue suggestions within Tameside & the surrounding areas, I’d be happy to hear them.
