Try It Tuesday - DIY Cupcake Wrappers

Cupcake wrappers look great and are becoming increasingly popular, however they can be quite pricey so why not have a go at making your own?

I found this tutorial on www.intimateweddings.com and thought it was such a great idea and looked really easy,so thought I would share it with you.

Have a look at the tutorial here and let me know how you get on :)

Wedding Wednesday - I'm getting married!

Have I told you that I’m getting married?  I am, next summer, I’m really excited.

I made a decision about our wedding a few weeks ago. (I should probably re-word that to WE made a decision but then I’d be lying). I love Twitter; I think it’s a great tool for small businesses like mine to network with other businesses, get ideas, inspiration and support. It’s also great for keeping up with the latest gossip hehe.

I decided that if it was practical and cost effective, I would use only Twitter suppliers for our wedding. I have already begun my search and chosen somebody to make our stationery - Make My Day UK (@makemydayuk), she makes the prettiest cards and invitations and I’m really excited about what our stationery will look like.

I mean look how gorgeous the invitation below is, so pretty!

You can find Make My Day UK's fab blog here.

I am now on the hunt for a venue in the North West, preferably one that will let have my dog at the wedding, long shot I know.

So there you have it, I will keep you updated over the next 18 months of how I’m getting on.

Try It Tuesday - Cupcake Stand

For the first Try It Tuesday feature, I have chosen a tutorial I found on Cake Journal a few months ago. It shows you how to make a Cupcake Stand using cake drums and dummies.

It’s so versatile because you can cover the drums and dummies in any colour you like.

You can find the tutorial here on Cake Journal.

New Features

On my travels around the blogging world, I’ve noticed that other bloggers do specific features on certain days, I really like this idea as it gives the blog a bit of direction instead of me just rambling on and it gives readers something to look forward to (I hope!).

Tuesdays are now Try It Tuesday, I will be featuring a tutorial, probably cake or wedding related each week for you to try. Mostly I will be using tutorials I find online but I may add one or two of my own.

Wednesdays are going to be Wedding Wednesday (original eh?) I am getting married next summer so I will be sharing my finds and ideas with you.

Last but definitely not least, Freebie Friday. This feature depends on how generous I can get suppliers to be with their products. I, of course will get the ball rolling with some fab Rainbow Delicious goodies but you’d get a bit sick of the same thing each week wouldn’t you?

I will try to offer a new freebie each week but as the blog is in the early stages, it might not be possible.

If you have a freebie you would like to share with my readers, please contact me, you will of course be fully credited with a link to your site.

So there you go, some exciting news for Rainbow Delicious readers!

p.s. Did you share this blog with your friends? Remember, I need readers to spur me into updating more often! No point talking to myself, I do that enough already!

I'm back!

This is just a little post to say that I am going to keep this blog updated from now on; you know what would spur me on? People following it! So please share it with your friends :)

I am planning on making it an interactive blog with giveaways and competitions because I really enjoy things like that.

I have recently finished my website (and am now redesigning it yet again!) so if you want to have a look to see what Rainbow Delicious is all about, it’s www.rainbowdelicious.co.uk.

You can also find me on Twitter @RD_Bakery

Thanks for reading and you will be hearing from me soon!

Cupcake Party

Today, I had a trial cupcake party at a friends house and I am pleased to say that it went brilliantly.

There were seven ladies there in total plus their children and great fun was had by all. I took a selection of cupcakes for the children to decorate, the adults soon joined in though!

We had a colouring competition for the older children but they were all so amazing, I delcared them all winners. I brought home my nephews picture though to display proudly on my fridge.

I made a selection of cupcakes for people to buy on the day, chocolate with chocolate orange buttercream, vanilla with strawberry buttercream, chocolate with a rocky road topping and lemon with lemon buttercream. They all got snapped up so I was really happy about that.

I want to branch out into wedding favours so my fab assistant (my 12 year old niece) decorated some love heart vanilla cookies we made the night before. I'm going to bake and decorate a whole batch soon to show them off properly.

I'm really looking forward to holding more cupcake parties in the future, all though I am not looking forward to working two days non stop for it!!
